KEEPING CALM & CARRYING ON... WITH A LITTLE HELP

The exhausting life of wife, mother, friend, neighbor, colleague, and woman...

The fall is, by far, the most stressful time of the year for anyone...

Summer has come and gone, kids are in school (and school is eating EVERYONE's lunch with activities, projects, games, birthday parties, teacher gifts, fund raisers - don't even get me started!), Q4 is looming, deadlines, weather changes, and then of course, the holidays.

In all of these things, and too many more to mention, there is one consistent: the exhausting life. As women, we are the carriers of it all:
  • We support our spouses, who need our attention and counsel, our help and encouragement, and our love.
  • We not only raise our children, but shoulder the weight of surprise bake sales, last minute costumes for "what I want to be when I grow up day", football practice and tournament schedules, cheer competitions, band fundraisers and games, break downs, break ups, hormone changes, and the angst and pressure of raising little humans who will (God willing) go out there and change the world.
  • We are friends, nurturers, shoulders to cry on, cheerleaders, wine bringers, girls night in (and many times out) celebrators, helpers, and the first line of defense for the people you hold close to your heart.
  • We are neighbors, pillars in our community, defenders of our home and those who comprise it.
  • We are employees, bosses, business owners, CEOs of homes, CEO's of companies, students, part-time workers, nurses, shift workers, lawyers, business women, and most of all - damn busy!
  • But most of all, we are women... and it is exhausting.

We put so much on our plates, always finding a little more room for one more thing. It all piles up, inevitably, at the end of the year, when we have so very much to be thankful for, no matter our struggle.

With the end of the year comes the most exhausting part of the life we live. Social commitments, multiple holidays that all require not only going to parties, but entertaining our own friends and family, and the holidays themselves all fall on us to "handle."

I've found that with help, we remain the superwomen that people see us to be. We all offer it to each other, yet when we need it most, never seem to offer it to ourselves. It's in our nature to handle it all, because, we're women. It's what we do. "Who else is going to do it?" we ask ourselves at 2 am when we're furiously cleaning the house for a surprise Spring fling fundraiser night that we're roped into hosting for school.

Let Prep My Lakehouse help. We understand. We live it day to day. Don't burden a friend with that heavy ask, and for heaven's sake, don't do it alone.  However little or much you need, we've got you covered.  I started this company because I was living the exhausted life: working 80 hours a week, never saying no, and the pile and stress grew, and grew. I was giving 100% to multiple things, which left me physically and emotionally in the red for my life.

When I finally looked for help, and couldn't find someone who understood, cared about what I found to be important in home care, entertaining support, and doing business - THAT's when I knew things in my life had to change.

Prep My Lakehouse is so much more than just a company to me. It's a life line for all of us living the exhausted life. We all need to build each other up, help each other out, and grow. Sometimes, it just takes giving a company a chance, and watching your world become just a little better, your holiday a little calmer, your home a little cleaner, or your life a little easier.

Let us handle the weights you're carrying.  I'm not saying we're the cure for exhaustion, but wouldn't you like to try?

Prep My Lakehouse - we're here to help.
